Attention all gluten-free friends (and non-GF friends as well!) We’re looking to do a master write-up on the current Gluten Free beer choices available to you, but we need your help. Let us know what beer in the market is gluten free, and we’ll try to include it in our write-up!

Please let us know names of gluten free beers by emailing us, commenting below, posting on our Facebook page, or @-ing us on Twitter.

Thanks for your help, and cheers!

New Grist was the first gluten free beer to be recognized as “real beer” in America! Watch Lakefront founder Russ talk about it in the first segment of Beer Nutz Milwaukee: http://www.hulu.com/watch/16030/beer-nutz-milwaukee

    1. Redbridge (Anheuser Busch)
    2. New Grist (Lakefront Brewery, Milwaukee WI)
    3. Bard’s Tale (www.bardsbeer.com)
    4. Green’s (Belgium)
    5. New Planet (Colorado,http://newplanetbeer.com/homepage/)
    6. Daura (Estrella Damm, Spain), the only GF beer made from ‘deglutenized barley’
    7. St. Peter’s g-free Sorgham Ale (UK)
    8. Mgebe and Shakparo Ale (Sprecher BRewery, http://blog.sprecherbrewery.com/?p=229)
    9. Schnitzerbräu Gluten-Free Beer (//www.schnitzerbraeu.de/)

I can find all of these (except #5 and #9) here in Indiana.

As a Wisconsinite, I was devastated when I found out I couldn’t have any more real beer!! Right now my favorites from the list above are Daura and St. Peter’s. Unfortunately, there is not a gluten free stout on the market (Green’s Darker beer is overly sweet).

What about some gluten-free recipes? A couple of friends have been asking me to brew them something they can drink . . . anyone have any success with a good recipe? I’ve heard of a lot of too-sweet duds . . .

@Megan: Yes! I didn’t think of that- gluten free beer recipes would be more than welcome! I’ll probably even try brewing them. Thanks for the suggestion, Megan!
